KRISO launches 2020 Future Ship Idea Contest

- Waiting for the participation of elementary, middle, and high school students nationwide; let's paint the future of maritime engineering -

□ On the 15th, the Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean Engineering (KRISO) announced that the 2020 KRISO Future Ship Idea Contest would be held until November 8th.

□ KRISO initiated this contest to attract more attention and interest to ship and maritime engineering and to further nurture talent with creativity and combined expertise.

□ The theme of this year's contest is the "Future Ship Idea." All elementary, middle, and high school students nationwide can participate and freely share their ideas about what future ships will be like.

□ All ideas submitted by November 8th will go through a preliminary review in which their creativity, logic, and practicality are evaluated. Ten ideas will then be selected from the elementary student division, and another ten ideas will be selected from the middle and high school student division to be presented at the main competition to be held at KRISO (Daejeon) on November 28th.

□ Those who receive good scores in the main competition will be granted certificates and prizes. The Grand Prize winner's idea will be reproduced as a figure, and it will also be given to the winner.

□ Booki Kim, the President of KRISO, said, "I am confident that the 2020 KRISO Future Ship Idea Contest will be an important venue to encourage students nationwide to be more interested in maritime engineering. I also hope that this year's contest is so successful that it continues next year, and the year after that as a renowned science and culture event that represents KRISO."
