dc.description.abstract | The enhanced Loran (eLoran) system is widely recognized as a robust terrestrial radionavigation system to back up for the vulnerabilities of global navigation satellite system (GNSS) signals, such as jamming and spoofing, and it can provide positioning, navigation, timing, and data (PNT&D) services. The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF) of Korea spearheaded the development of the eLoran system in 2020, and it has been under trial operation at the Socheong site since 2022. In this paper, we present an overview of the current status and performance analysis of the eLoran pilot operation and whether eLoran service will be able to meet the IMO's harbor entrances and approaches (HEA) requirements. Additionally, this paper discusses the potential of utilizing the eLoran system as a nationwide PNT service present the possibility of using the eLoran as a nationwide PNT service. | - |
