dc.description.abstract | This study estimated the life-cycle cost of the proposed hydrogen supply chains to determine the optimal hydrogen supply chain in Korea. Hydrogen, clean energy source, attracted attention due to the significant trend of decarbonization in the energy market. Many countries make efforts to realize the hydrogen society, but there are many challenges for it. One of the challenges is the complexity of the configuration of a hydrogen supply chain. Hydrogen can be produced by various methods and transported in several ways. It also can be applied to diverse areas such as mobility, building, and industry. The optimal hydrogen supply chain is different depending on its condition and environment (policy and infrastructure). In this study a ship was determined as a hydrogen utilization area, and various ways were investigated for hydrogen production and transportation & storage. The proposed methods for hydrogen production were steam methane reforming (SMR), coal gasification, and electrolysis. The suggested transportation ways are compressed hydrogen, liquefied hydrogen, and liquid organic hydrogen carrier (LOHC). Life-cycle cost analysis was employed for the evaluation of the transportation ways. | - |
